VLCC launches healthy heart campaign

Ludhiana, September 29, 2012:- VLCC has launched a nationwide ‘Healthy Heart’ campaign to commemorate the World Heart Day with the mission to motivate people to take care of their heart and health.

As part of the initiative, VLCC organised ‘Healthy Heart' Camps across its nationwide Slimming, Beauty and Fitness centers, to create awareness about obesity and its impact on the heart. 

A similar activity was also organised at VLCC, on Ferozepur Road here. On the occasion, Dr. Gaurav Sachdeva discussed about the heat awareness diseases.

Senior Center Head Prabha Maya Prasad and technical head Ashwinder said that obesity is an important determinant of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and various studies have conclusively shown a direct association between obesity and risk of CVD, especially in younger age groups. There is evidence that a weight gain of 10 kgs doubles the risk of heart disease, while a weight loss of 10% significantly reduces blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
