Ludhiana, March 31, 2016: As many as 50 students pursuing different under graduate courses along with 4 faculty members from Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Vocational Studies (GGN Campus) went on a one day trip to Kasauli. “This fine looking hill resort is an image of serenity, drenched in the charm of pines, oaks, firs and willows and makes an ideal destination for people who want to explore nature and are looking for serenity” said Mr. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director of the institute.
The route to Kausali was quite picturesque lined with pines throughout. The students visited the Church, the Monkey Point and the main market. The busiest place in Kasauli is the junction of Upper and Lower Malls both of which are markets with shops selling daily commodities and souvenirs for tourists. The Lower Mall boasts of local restaurants selling local fast food.
The monkey point, which is the highest spot in Kasauli, provides a vantage view of the hill resort. The students had to cover a distance of above 2 km on foot to reach the temple. It took them an hour to reach the temple from the foothill. The temple stands on the very summit of the hill above a small bazaar. The view from the top of the hill was a pleasure in the ambience of the sequestered spot.
“Visiting Kasauli during this time of the year was like sitting in the nature’s lap and it is actually a nature lover’s delight” said Shazia of B.Com 6th Semester and Maninderpal Singh of BSCom 4th semester.
