VIGILANCE NABS ASI & CONSTABLE IN BRIBERY CASE

Chandigarh, October 26: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and Constable red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.20,000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Samraj Singh and Constable Rajwinder Singh both are posted at Police Station Talwandi Bhai in Ferozepur district was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Sukhpreet Kaur. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI and constable were demanding Rs.20,000 for excluding her husband and son’s name from a list having drug peddlers.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI and constable were arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.20,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ferozepur and further investigation was under progress.
