Registers 12 vigilance enquiries to probe corruption charges
Chandigarh, November 9, 2017: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing drive against corruption in public life, has been able to nab 12 officials red handed accepting bribes in 10 different trap cases during the last month which includes 8 police personnel and 4 belonging to other departments.

Disclosing this, an official spokesperson of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau said the VB has put up its best efforts to stamp out corruption amongst public servants and others in every sphere. In this direction, the Vigilance officers have ensured that suspect did not escape judicial punishment in the various courts in the State.

He informed that the Bureau had submitted challans of seven vigilance cases in various special courts in the month of October. Apart from this, twelve vigilance enquires have also been registered to probe into the allegations against public servants. In addition to this three criminal cases have also been registered after through probe, he added.

Giving more details, the spokesperson informed that the court of Additional Sessions Judge Ludhiana has decided a vigilance case filed and contested by the Bureau during last month in which Kulwant Kaur of SBS Nagar, Ludhiana city was convicted and sentenced with 3 years imprisonment after finding her guilty for forging property documents.
