BRIEFS VIGILANCE ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED ACROSS THE STATE DURING AWARENESS WEEK
Chandigarh, November 9, 2017: Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau Punjab Mr B.K.Uppal held a meeting with Chief Secretary, Punjab Mr Karan Avtar Singh and briefed about the status of important cases being probed by Bureau.

Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Director, Vigilance Bureau and AIG/FS-I, Vigilance Bureau also attended the meeting.

During the meeting Mr Uppal has given detailed presentation on the investigation of case FIR No. 10/2017 registered against Gurinder Singh, Contractor and Engineers of Irrigation Department, Punjab. He has also apprised the Chief Secretary about the orders passed by the High Court regarding the interim bails granted and the details of arguments advanced by Advocate General on these anticipatory bail petitions filed by the accused persons in the court.

The Spokesperson also informed that Vigilance Chief also apprised the Chief Secretary about various programmes viz. Seminars, Rallies, Radio talks, Painting competitions in schools, interaction with Panchayats, NGOs and other persons in villages, offices and educational institutes and distribution of pamphlets and literature during Vigilance Awareness Week – 2017.

He also discussed the administrative matters with Mr Karan Avtar Singh including acute shortage of manpower in Bureau, release of pending bills in treasury and progress of construction of Vigilance Bureau building at S.A.S.Nagar.
