Ferozepur, February 19, 2014: The Vigilance Bureau trapped Haripal Singh, Patwari at Ferozepur for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 in cash on Tuesday.
Nishan Singh had an ancestral land of three acre at the village Aasafwala. For further proceedings, Nishan Singh had applied for the copies of jamabandi of this land and the case was laying pending to Haripal Singh, who allegedly demanded Rs.50,000 for the jamabandi. The deal was finally settled on Rs.40,000.
On the designated date of payment, Nishan Singh handed over Rs.10,000 to Haripal Singh as the first instalment where a special team of vigilance bureau was waylaying and the team immediately nabbed the patwari red handed.
