Vigilance Bureau Issues Directive To Be Aware From Fake Officials

Chandigarh, May 18, 2016: The Vigilance Bureau Punjab has issued directive to be aware from fake officials. An official spokesman of the Vigilance Bureau said that it has come to notice of Vigilance Bureau, Punjab that some persons are impersonating as officers of Vigilance Bureau and calling government officials and collecting money from them.

Stating this, a spokesman of the vigilance bureau said that the modus operandi of such elements is that they contact the government servants by impersonating as officers of Vigilance Bureau, Punjab and threaten that they have received corruption related complaints against them and for settling the matter, they demand small amounts from government servants.

So, the General public is informed that in the past too, such incidents have occurred in Punjab and whenever the Vigilance Bureau has received specific reports, the accused were nabbed and were booked under the relevant provisions of law.

The spokesman further said that it is again requested that if any person approach any private or government servant impersonating as Vigilance Bureau officer and demands money, they should immediately lodge complaint in the nearest Police Station.
