Veer Nari Meet held


Jalandhar, August 4, 2012: A Veer Nari Meet was organised at Military Station Beas yesterday, to honour, interact and address issues concerning widows of soldiers who laid down their lives for the cause of nation.

Thirty Veer Naris belonging to areas adjoining Beas attended the event organized amidst the solemn settings of Beas military station.

Station  Commander Beas alongwith his wife, Kaushambi Tomar welcomed the Veer Naris and interacted with them.  During his interaction with Veer Naris, the Commander highlighted the sacrifices made by their families in prime of their life for the cause of motherland.   He stressed upon the responsibility of each soldier to ensure that Veer Naris and their children are looked after and their interests catered for.

The meet focused on addressing aspirations of Veer Naris, activities organised included lectures on medical benefits/facilities being extended  through Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), canteen facilities, concessions/facilities, opportunities etc being offered by various government/non governmental organization to kith/kin of martyred soldiers.

The event having achieved  the aim of establishing communication with the Veer naris and highlighting to them the gratefulness of the nation towards their sacrifices, concluded by presentation of gifts.
