Jalandhar, September 9, 2014: The Engineer Task Force of the Vajra Corps relentlessly continued its rescue operations in flood affected Srinagar City areas for the second day. Till 9A.M today, it has been able to rescue a total of 700 personnel in the flooded areas of Rambagh, Haft Chinar, Tengpora and Tatoo Ground, to safe areas.
The strength of the Task Force was beefed up to 135 soldiers when two more sorties airlifted men and equipment from Jalandhar on 08 Sep 2014.
Vajra Corps has also established a cell in the cantonment wherein the volunteer contribution of all in the station in regard to food and clothing stuff will be collected and sent as a relief aid for the flood victims in Srinagar.
