Use e- mail for routine correspondence,

Chandigarh, September 3, 2012: The Education Department Punjab is all set to embrace modern technology for its daily routine departmental works. Director General School Education has issued instruction to the District authorities to use e-mail to routine daily correspondence and not to precure hard copies where ever not necessary.

Disclosing this here today a official spokesman said that all the District Education Officer, Block Primary Education Officers and Main office of the department have been instructed to use e-mail for their daily correspondence.

The spokesperson said that most of the District Education Offices ask for e-mail as well as hard copy of the required information which on one hand is the wastage of time and wastage of paper on the other hand.

He said that officers have been directed to procure hard copies on those circumstances where the internet facility is not available. He said that most of the times performas are send to the schools to get information.

He said that this kind of information should be got only through e-mails. He said that the department has provided internet facilities in all the offices including Government High School, Senior secendary School and Middle Schools. He said that stern action would be taken against all those officers, who would not adhere to this instructions.
