Talwandi Sabo, March 12, 2015: University College of Physical Education organised a Volleyball Tournament in the campus playground. Dr.Ravinder Sumal, HoD Physical Education College inaugurated the competition with his blessings to the students.
Dr. Tarlok Singh Sandhu (Basketball Olympian) gave tips to the students regarding the game. He said that hard work and sportsmanship is the key to success in sports.
Boys of 6th semester stood 1st in the tournament. Gurveer Singh & Manjeet Kaur declared ‘Best Payers’ of the tournament on the basis of the overall performance during the competition.
Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor GKU appreciated the efforts of Dr. Ravinder Sumal and his team for frequently conducting such sports activities in the Campus. This also provides motivation to the other students, he added.
Sukhraj Singh Sidhu, Managing Director congratulated Dr. Sandhu & Dr. Sumal for successful competition of the activity. He also assured to provide every required support to promote sports & fitness culture among the students.
Prof. Surinder Kaur Mahi was coordinator of this programme. Apart from others Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Gurdeep Singh, Prof. Sukhdeep Rani and Prof. K. P. S. Mahi were present on this occasion.
