UNION BUDGET ANOTHER “JUMLA” FOR PEOPLE: RAVNEET SINGH BITTU
SAYS MODI GOVT BUDGET A MOCKERY OF FARMERS Ludhiana, February 1, 2019: Trashing the Union Budget for 2019-20 as a ‘jumla Budget’ of the Modi government, Ludhiana MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu described it as a hogwash, with nothing for the farmers and youth, while putting more burden on the common man. The MP termed the Rs 6,000 a year announced for marginal farmers as mere peanuts. With just Rs 500 a month for the distressed farmers, the Modi government had made it obvious that they did not recognise the gravity of the problem, said Bittu, while dubbing the exercise as a mockery of the interests of the farming community. He said that people had a lot of expectations from this budget, but unfortunately, its merely an eyewash for the residents for the fifth time in a row. He said that the SC, BC and other castes have been ignored in this budget. Besides, the Modi government failed to announce any special package or announcement for the industrial city of Ludhiana is also shocking.
