Jalandhar, July 24, 2019: Under Swachhta Internship, 25 volunteers of NSS wing of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar went the village Salarpur which has been adopted by Apeejay with the motto to aware them about clean surroundings. During this internship, the NSS volunteers began with their cleanliness campaign and cleaned the classrooms, office and ground of primary wing and high school. Not only this, the volunteers also told the students of village about the necessity of maintaining hygiene especially in this monsoon when various kinds of fevers as Dengue, Cholera and Malaria frequently occur due to water logging and garbage around them. The volunteers also discussed about the remedial measures against such illness and certain ways to keep their surroundings clean. Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma opined that such initiatives teach students one of the important lessons of life i.e. Humanity. Through such internships they learn not only to make themselves a good human being and ultimately a good citizen but also to make their society a better place to live in. She also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Apra, Dean NSS Wing for the successful completion of the cleanliness programme.
