Chandigarh, October 22, 2014: In order to inculcate awareness about Green Diwali, University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development (UIFT&VD), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh on Wednesday organised a Rangoli Making Competition at the PU Campus and celebrated Diwali.
30 Students of B.Sc. Fashion & Lifestyle Technology participated in the competition and made 13 Rangolies.
The participants looked very cheerful and enthusiastic. The gallery of the department dazzled with lights and colors. A variety of designs & motifs were seen – like Peacocks, Lord Ganesha, Diyas & various other traditional motifs. A variety of materials & decorative items were also used saw dust, rice powder, flowers Diyas, candles just to name a few.
First position was secured by a team of Anjali Jangra, Smridhi and Komal Preet Kaur of B.Sc.I semester, Second position was secured by a team of Karina Bedi & Manveen Rai and Third position was secured by a team of Greetika Jassi & Jatinder Kaur B.Sc.V semester respectively. Consolation prize was won by a team Kiranjot Kaur & Anmol B.Sc. III semester.
This Competition was organised by Guest Faculty of the UIFT Department, Pardeep Dhiman.
