Chennai, January 27, 2018: Project PUTHRI’s first career visioning program for underprivileged girl students, Udyog Utsav 2018 was concluded in a grand manner today benefiting 1000 PUTHRIs from corporation schools. Project PUTHRI is an initiative of AVTAR Human Capital Trust established to empower girl students from underprivileged sections. CavinKare’s Meera, has partnered with Project Puthri to support the students this year.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Ms.Aditi Balan, Actor & Lawyer, in the presence of other eminent industry captains. The one-day program was organized with an aim to offer an interactive platform for the students to network, explore and gain insights about the myriad possibilities of courses, scholarships, jobs, internships and career paths.
Various power-packed grooming and mentoring sessions were organized in an effort to enlighten the students about the benefits of higher education and the importance of pursuing a white collar job. The children were enlightened on the benefits of education through traditional art forms like Villipaatu and Patimandarm. The importance of self defense was also emphasized to the students through a session on KravMaga.
Speaking on the occasion, Actor and Lawyer - Ms. Aditi Balan said “I am delighted to be associated with this project. In this day and age, it is very important for the young women of our country to have a good education. I entirely support this initiative and wish to enlighten students in pursuing the career of their dreams.”
Speaking at the event, Dr. Saundarya Rajesh, Founder – President, AVTAR Group said “Udyog Utsav is a significant milestone in our journey towards educating and empowering India’s daughters. We are delighted with the overwhelming support received from colleges and corporate organizations as part of this career visioning program, without whom our puthris would not have been exposed to myriad of opportunities. The program witnessed an exciting mix of participation from companies and colleges like CavinKare- Meera, Sathyabama University, PMI- Chennai Chapter, Dream Zone, Dow Chemicals, Sodexo, Rotary Club- Vadapalani, Natuurals, VXL Services, Pain & Stroke Rehab Centre, Deloitte, Advance Training Institute- Government of India, Wsquare, DIWWAAAS, Bhumi, Landmark Group, Kone Elevators, Agni Institute of technology, Group N Pay, ECO Kitchen(YRG Foundation), HBM, Shasun College, Wells Fargo, Valeo, Allsec, Madras School of Social Work, CIPET, Zomato, Hathway, DG Vaishnav, Katha on Ratha, Equitas, Ball Beverage Packaging, Ooruni Foundation and TATA Starbucks.
