Ludhiana, January 17, 2013: The UCPMA president Gurmeet Singh Kular had a meeting with Karan Avtar Singh, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce and Labour.
The principal secretary was apprised of the difficulties being faced by the industries.
Regarding SAC approval, Kular said it was highly cumbersome and time consuming process. “This is the main hindrance for further growth and development of the small scale industries”, he said. He sought that a policy of the prior approval from the site appraisal committee should not be made mandatory in the designated / specified industrial areas.
With regard to minimum wages act, the secretary was requested that the minimum wages should include all the allowances.
Among others, DL Sharma from CII, Pankaj Munjal president of All India Cycle Manufacturers’ Association (AICMA), VK Goel Director SEL Manufacturing Company and Rishi Pahwa Director Avon Cycles Ltd. Were present.
