UCPMA delegation meets Principal Secretary

Ludhiana, January 31, 2013: A delegation of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) under the presidentship of Gurmeet Singh Kular had a meeting with Karan Avtar Singh, Principal Secretary, Labour, Industries and Commerce on January 30 at Chandigarh.

The officer was apprised of the difficulties being faced by the industry.

The delegates said there was a need of developing a new focal point and waiving of SAC approval. They also stressed for zoning of industry and no expansion/extension of in Mix Land Use Area.

The officer was apprised that Phase-1 to 3 and Phase- 4 to 8 in Foical Point Area were being controlled by two different government agencies namely GLADA and by PSIEC, which caused hindrance to the industry for getting their difficulties removed.

It was suggested that to the Principal Secretary that Phase- 1 to 3 might also be transferred to PSIEC so as to enable the industry to get their work done from the one window (PSIEC) which would give relief to the industry.

Kular informed the Principal Secretary that Mix Land Use Area had been placed under Category feeder No-1 which caused hindrance to get the new electricity connection by the old as well as new industries situated in Mix Land Use Area. The officer was requested that this area should be transferred to industrial area feeder.

Among others, Jagatvir Singh, President, Ludhiana Bicycle Engineering Park, Rajeev Jain, President, Laghu Udyog Bharti, Rajnish Gupta, Chairman, Ludhiana Bicycle Engineering Park and B.S. Dhiman, President, Avon Cycles Ltd. Were present.
