UCPMA delegation meets Madan Mohan Mittal

Ludhiana, May 23, 2014: A delegation of United Cycle & Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana under the Chairmanship of Manjit Singh Khalsa met  the Industry & Commerce Minister, Punjab Madan Mohan Mittal and discussed the burning issues of the industry such as VAT Refund, VAT notification, pollution problems regarding the consent/NOC from PPCB and various problems of the Mixed Land Used Areas.

Khalsa requested the minister that industry department is not issuing the EM-Part-II numbers new and existing industries in the Mixed Land Used Areas whereas as per new guidelines of the state government the new power connections are allowed in all such areas.

Khalsa further requested that PSIEC should be instructed to speed up the project of new focal points for polluting industry and as the majority of bicycle industry is located in the Mixed Land Used Areas, a SEZ should be proposed for such industry. He appreciated the view of the minister in regard to further decreasing power tariff in the state.

The minister assured the delegation that most of the demands are very much genuine and invited the delegation of UCPMA to Chandigarh so that all the matters could be discussed in the presence of concerned officers.

Badish Jindal National President FASII, Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria Mayor MCL, Parveen Bansal District President BJP, Jatinder Mittal Vice Chairman UCPMA, Inderjit Singh Navyug, Senior Vice President Pradeep Wadhawan and Secretary Ajit Kumar and Propaganda Secretary Manmohan Singh Marton were among those present.
