UBS Ludhiana organized inter-state quiz “gyanmanthan – 2019”
Ludhiana, September 13, 2019: University Business School, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana organized the 8th edition of “Gyanmanthan – 2019” an Inter-state quiz contest at its Annie Besent Auditorium today. Approx. 100 students comprising 30 teams from different Universities, Colleges, B-School and other institutes from Ludhiana, Moga, Jalandhar, Chandigarh etc. participated in the event. Gurpreet Kaur, Assistant General Manager, SBI, Ludhiana and Suresh Kumar Das, Chief Manager, SBI, Ludhiana were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for the Inaugural ceremony. Whereas Badish K Jindal, Managing Director, Shakti Corporation and President Federation of Punjab Small Scale Industries Association graced the event as chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. Major attraction of the event was a talk by Anna Durai, who is a motivational speaker from Chennai. He is known as an amazing auto driver due to his innovations in the area of customer satisfaction. He has been 6 times TEDx Speaker and has delivered talks in more than 50 corporate houses and many top ranked educational institutes like IIMs and IITs. Prof.Ravi Inder Singh, Director, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana welcomed the guests. During his address he shared that Gyanmanthan is an annual event at UBS Ludhiana. It was started in the year 2012 with the motto to instill the spirit of winning with competition and hard work amongst the youth. Response to this event is increasing exponentially every year. Dr.Ashish Saihjpal, Coordinator, UBS Ludhiana presented the annual report of department. He apprised the audience that every year students of UBS Ludhiana are bagging top university positions in Panjab University, Chandigarh examinations. He emphasized that placements of students is one of key thrust area for UBS Ludhiana. During the placement seasion-2019, different companies of repute like HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Jaro Education etc. have recruited the student from this institute. Team representing the HMV College, Jalandhar won the event whereas teams representing Guru Nanak Girls College, Ludhiana and Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce, Ludhiana bagged the second and third position respectively. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Shashi Kapoor, Coordinator Gyanmanthan. The event was concluded with national anthem.
