Two month vocational course in Soft and Life Skills Development at RGC proves to be a great success

Ludhiana, November 21, 2018: Department of lifelong Learning and Extension, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized 2 month course in Soft and Life Skills Development at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana and its valedictory function was celebrated on Nov 21,2018. Around 50 students took benefit from the same. Faculty of English dept and an old student of the same campus Ms. Anita guided students about different concepts of English. Guest lectures were also the part of the course.
On the concluding day, Dr.Paramjit Singh Kang, Chairperson, Department of Life Long Learning and Extension, P.U. Chandigarh was given floral welcome.
Principal Dr.Inderjit Kaur talked about the importance of such workshops as these are the need of the hour and appreciated the efforts of Dept. of Life Long Learning and Extension as they are doing tireless job.
Dr.Paramjit Singh Kang added that the purpose of the workshop was to make students confident while speaking English. He said that various concepts that were taught to the students would be helpful for them in the long run.
On this day, students showcased their skills by presenting skits on the themes of “Dowry System” and “Child Labour”. Deepti of B.com 3 read the report.
Prof.Tajinder Kaur, Head, Department of English gave the vote of thanks to the eminent guest. She emphasized on the significance of such courses as they not only focus on communication skills but on different aspects such as personality development, interview skills, debate, declamation etc. These courses aim at the overall development of the students. At the end of the day, the students were distributed certificates.
