Two-day National CSR Film Festival begins on Feb 6

Indore, February 5, 2016, The two-day India Social Responsibility Film Festival 2016, being organized by S.I.R.F in association with the Union Bank of India and Rotary Club of Indore Central is opening on the 6th February 2016 at 11 a.m. at the School of Computer Science &Information Technology, University Campus, DAVV, Khandwa Road, Indore. 
Former Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Former Acting Chief Justice Rajasthan would inaugurate the function on the 6th February 2016 in the presence of versatile artist, painter, photographer and Sculptor Padmashri  Bhalu Mondhe and various other eminent guests. 
He has more than 40 years of experience in photography and painting.)
This, one of a kind Film Festival, is an attempt to bring films made on socially relevant issues to the forefront and acknowledge the best work in the form of films to inspire the new generation of filmmakers.  
Despite being the inaugural year, the India Social Responsibility Film Festival 2016 has garnered an exceptional response from the Corporates, Directors and Students etc. with more than 70 films in 8 different genres, viz. Films on Education, Water Conservation, Road Safety, Health and Clean Environment, Renewable Energy, Livelihood, Women Empowerment &Films on Social / Media Awareness Campaign
Selected films submitted in the above mentioned various genres would be screened for the audience during this festival. 
An added attraction of the first day of the film festival would be a workshop, especially for the students, by Shri Hari Pillai, an FTII alumni and renowned Sound Designer in Bollywood with over 17 years’ experience in Feature Films, documentaries and Television. This workshop, by Shri Hari Pillai, is in fact, our initiative at generating an interest among the youngsters and help them understand this creative field with enormous opportunities and look at it as a career opportunity. 
Another unique feature that would be another first in this festival would be the screening of a documentary film “Udaan” produced by an amateurand enthusiast.Ajay Gadikar and P. C. Dubey. Ajay Gadikar is anIT entrepreneur with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering. An avid bird watcher and conservationist Ajay also has to his credit a course in BNHS Ornithology from Mumbai. He has been featuring on the local TV Channel as a specialist on birds in various programs.
The day would end with another screening of selected films. 
The second day i.e. the 7th of February would the Rotary Club of Indore Central in action with screening of films on Road Safety especially for school children. These films would include animation films produced by Abbott Healthcare and Maruti This would be followed by a presentation for the kids by Deepak Redgaonkar. 
Post lunch would see an open forum by the eminent Production Designer from Bollywood Shri Jayant Deshmukh as he shares his thoughts andexperiences with the audience. This program would be presided by Shri Brajesh Rajput. Jayant has a rich experience of over 30 years and has to his credit films like The Myth, Rajneeti, Singh Is King, Short Cut, Namaste London, Deewar, Maqbool, Cash, Aankhen etc. to his credit as the Art Director. 
Selected films would once again be screened for the audience during this festival. 
Apart from the Awards Ceremony that would follow, one of the major attraction of this day is a conference /panel discussion on the “Shrinking Space and the Relevance of Public Broadcasting in Modern Day India”. An important issue that plagues the country today! Eminent personalities would participate in this discussion viz. distinguished JournalistsDr. Mukesh Kumar (prominent journalist with 30 years’ experience in media and launching of around 6 news channels to his credit), Cineaste and Novelist Nilendu Sen (25 years of experience in television/documentaries/films and content generation of over 10, 000 hours of telecast programming,),Girija Shankar (renowned journalist and popular independent analyst in the Print and Electronic Media) andJaideep Karnik(Head IBN Digital, with 19 years of experience). The CEO Rajyasabha TV and Jt. Secretary/OSD for the Vice President of India Shri. Gurdeep Sappalwould preside over this function andrenowned journalist and blogger Prakash Hindustaniwill be the moderator of this discussion. 
Post this panel discussion SIRF in association with the Union Bank of India and Rotary Club of Indore Central would host the Awards Ceremony where the commendable work in Film making for the socially Relevant Issues would be acknowledged and felicitated. CEO Rajyasabha TV and Jt. Secretary/OSD for the Vice President of India would do the honours and hand out the awards to the deserving entries. 
Senior executives from Abbott Healthcare, Mahindra SSG, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., International Resources for Fairer Trade (IRFT), MAAC (India) etc. would be attending this two-day Film Festival and the Awards Ceremony.
