Two-Day International Architectural Conference and Professional Meet ‘NICHE IPM-2018’ commenced at LPU
Jalandhar, November 16, 2018: Third edition of International Architectural conference NICHE-IPM (Neo-International Conference of Habitable Environments & International Professionals Meet) 2018 commenced today at Lovely Professional University (LPU) on promising notes. Scores of eminent speakers from across the world are to churn out befitting solutions for smart living world across. LPU School of Architecture & Design (LSAD) is organizing this two-day conference in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA)- Punjab Chapter, which is a part of national body of architects in the country. LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal congratulated all at LSAD for organization of the international conference and invoked students to get exposed to all the architectural set ups at the campus, be these in the forms of buildings, labs, auditoria, indoor-outdoor stadiums. Mr Mittal also asked them to walk on the foot prints of their seniors who worked for the Smart City Project of Jalandhar City and proved themselves a part of its successfully going on. Nationally & internationally much awarded eminent Architect Raj Rewal addressed students on the topic ‘Elements of Architectural Design’ and inspired them to work on projects so that human beings in world around may live well. Prior to this, LSAD Dean Ar Atul Singla and Chairman IIA, Punjab Chapter Ar.Sanjay Goel welcomed elite gathering at the conference. On this occasion President, ITPI Prof (Dr.) D S Meshram; Prof Dr Zebun, from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology; Professor at IIT Roorkee Dr Pushplata; Padmashree Awardee Ar. G Shankar from Kerala; Director, Sthapati Associates (Lucknow) Ar. Vipul B Varshney; Chief Town Planner, Punjab, Mr Gurpreet Singh and other stalwarts in the field of architecture were present. The aim of the Conference and the Meet is to bring together leading academicians, scientists, researchers to exchange their experiences on all aspects of habitable environments. It is also to provide premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators. Participants are presenting and discussing recent innovations, future trends, practical challenges, and various solutions in the fields of Architecture, Urban Planning, Interior Design, Furniture and Product Design. Worth mentioning, since its inception, LSAD has explored pedagogy coherent to professional practice, be it architecture, design or urban planning. LSAD alumni have proved to be an asset to top national design houses, multinational companies, have also been to NITs, CEPT, SPAs, top Universities of Europe, Australia, Canada, the USA, and won accolades in respective fields.
