Twins at 52 years with IVF technique

Ludhiana, May 24, 2014: Surinder Kaur (52 ) of Malerkotla was married for 30 years. She had history of primary infertility with Menopause. She had multiple fibroids of the uterus which were removed surgically. After 4 fibroids were removed last year uterus was saved. Her periods were started with hormonal injections .Because of her age and menopausal status an egg donor was recruited for this patient .With donated eggs and using her husband’s sperms an IVF was planned in august 2013 according to Dr Ruchika and Dr Amit Sofat of Dr Rama Sofat Hospital  & Dr Ruchikas test tube baby centre. With God’s Grace this patient conceived in the very first attempt of IVF. She delivered twin baby boys weighing 2.5 & 2.3 kgs respectively on the May 19 this year.  Lately infertility treatment has progressed a lot.
Both Dr Ruchika and Dr Amit Sofat said many newer techniques are now available to doctors which has helped innumerable couples to conceive the world over .The main reasons for increasing no of infertility cases is stress, tension, life style changes, drug addiction, pollution etc. in about 33% cases the male is responsible, in 33% cases the woman is responsible & in 33% both husband & wife are  responsible . With advancement in technology & the newer techniques (iUI, IVF  ET, ICSI )doctors have been able to improve success rates in infertility dramatically according to Dr Ruchika Sofat & Dr Amit Sofat.
