Turban tying competition dedicated to 550th Gurupurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji

Jalandhar, November 5, 2019: A Turban tying competition dedicated to the 550th Gurupurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was organized by the joint efforts of Lyallpur Khalsa College and Municipal Corporation Jalandhar, wherein over 100 students in two classifications (comprising of classes X-XII and lower) from various schools of the region actively participated. College Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra graced the program as chief guest and appreciated the efforts of Mr.Harcharan Singh, PCS, Joint Commissioner Corporation Jalandhar much to the benefit of our rich cultural heritage. Dr.Samra also praised the beautiful turbans displayed by the participant students on this occasion. Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Mayor Mr.Jagdish Raja also congratulated the students. Judgment on the competition was given by Dr S.S Bains, Dr. Harjinder Singh and Prof. Palwinder Singh while Prof. Arinder Singh also played an imperative role alongside the staff from Municipal Corporation in the conduct of the program.
