Panchkula, September 24, 2015: There is good news for the Health Conscious & Teetotalers. They will have a bar to themselves; yes you heard it right -- the only difference will be that the Bar will offer Authentic & Healthy Mocktails created by masters of the beverage business. The Tangerine Lounge & Soft Bar, tricity’s first exclusive Lounge that specializes in Mocktails, located in Mansa Devi Complex, Panchkula, has opened its doors to Mocktail & Food enthusiasts.
The Tangerine is the idea of Dr (Mrs.). Prabhjot Guron, a PhD in Educational Psychology & Stress Management. A mother of two she was always concerned about her kids’ health. She conducted a survey to know what children like to eat the most; the findings were not surprising: Most wanted to bite into fast or junk food. The Tangerine was thus born. Dr Prabhjot worked with a team of professionals to develop almost -zero oil recipes in pastas & other fast foods. “The Tangerine uses whole wheat pizza bases and whole wheat breads while maintaining the original taste of continental food. In drinks also youngsters were more susceptible to having beers and breezers which contain alcohol, to curb this & inculcate the habit of having healthy drinks, a Mocktail bar was established which has a bevy of fresh fruit based drinks.”
The USP of The Tangerine certainly is its Soft Bar. The same has been ideated & set up by a 27-year-old beverages expert – Sanjay Kuhikar, who has come from Mumbai. Sanjay has rich experience of setting up high profile bars & working with celebrities. He helped putting up Pune’s ‘Mug Shot Lounge’ owned by Siddharth Chopra, Actress Priyanka Chopra’s brother. Sanjay is a graduate of Mumbai’s Cocktail & Dreams, one of India’s best bar tending Academies & has worked in high end bar tending assignments like Sunburn in Goa.
The Lounge & Soft Bar is themed on the concept of providing connoisseurs with an eclectic mix of unique Mocktails with the signature drink being ‘Tangerine Special’, made by mixing Fresh Tangerine, Cranberry, Lime juice to give you that lovely tangy taste “The Tangerine’s Mocktail menu is different & has 17 flavours with a fresh fruit base. A very lip smacking concoction is Frozen Apple which has Fresh Green Apple as part of its mix, it’s also another of our Signature drinks. Our Summer Cooler Mocktail has chunks of fresh watermelon and Orange Basil Blast too is made using fresh orange juice.” Said Sanjay, In Charge of The Tangerine’s Soft Bar.
The Starters has Thai Sesame Chicken among many delicacies. In Sandwiches, The Tangerine Roasted Chicken Sandwich is inviting. The Tangerie Hawaii Pizza is a good option for Pizza lovers. Mexican Roll & Keema Masala Roll are attractions in the wide Wrap & Roll Range. In Main Course Veg Tacos, Broccoli with Lemon sauce, Shredded Chicken with Lemon Chilly sauce, are there among other items.
“Almost all items on the menu have been made using new ideas & recipes. Our Biryanis are cooked in Dum style and the Dessert -- Mix Fruit & Tangerine with Fresh Cream is a real treat to eat.” Said Master Chef Vinod Godyal. The food menu has a good mix of Pub food, Italian, Mexican, Oriental & Indian.
