Trials of men and women for world cup kabaddi from November 9

Chandigarh, November 7, 2013: The trials for Indian Kabaddi Team would be conducted at Punjab Agriculture University from November 9 to 12 for both men and women section. The selected players would participate in the ensuing Kabaddi World Cup scheduled from November 30 to December 14.

Sikander Singh Maluka, President Punjab Kabaddi Association stating this here today said that for 4th World Cup Kabaddi trials for both categories under circle style kabaddi would be conducted at Ludhiana. He said that selection trials for men category would be held on November 9 and 10 following the women category trials on November 11 and 12.

The President said that the desiring players should report the authorities on November 9 before 8 am along with documents including domicile proof. He said that to maintain the event drug free National Anti Dope Agency would also conduct dope tests during trials.

Maluka also informed that those players, who were found dope positive during any previous World Cup can also participate in the 4th edition of World Cup Kabaddi by getting No Objection Certificate from NADA. He said that in this edition there would be 12 nations in men category while 8 teams in women category would vie for the titles of Rs. 2 crore, Rs. 1 crore and Rs. 51 lakh in men category respectively. He said that in women category the prize money would be Rs. 1 crore, Rs. 51 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh respective for winner, runners up and third place while a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh would be given to each participating team.
