Training program organized on Punjab ECBC

Ludhiana, July 16, 2018: Three day capacity building training program on Punjab Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) was started today at Ludhiana. Punjab Energy Conservation Building Code (Punjab ECBC) has been notified by the Department of New & Renewable Energy, Government of Punjab which is now mandatory in the building complexes having connected load of 100 kW or greater or a contract demand of 120 kVA or greater or having covered area of 500 m2 or more.
For the effective Implementation of Punjab ECBC, PEDA with the support of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and UNDP as per UNDP-GEF-BEE Project has initiated the Capacity Building Training Program which is being organized through GMK Infra Solutions and Green Tree Building Energy at Ludhiana for Architects, Engineers, Consultants, Builders, Developers, Urban Local Bodies, Development Authorities and other Stakeholders.
Ar. Sanjay Goel -Director Ludhiana Smart City Limited who is also the Chairman of IIA Punjab Chapter was the Chief Guest. Anupam Nanda, DM, PEDA ,Ludhiana said that PEDA is holding awareness campaigns and intensive training programmes to sensitize the stakeholders on the ECBC Code and its implementation. After a series of one day awareness programs and two days intensive training programmes PEDA has initiated a series of three days training programmes which are being organized all over the state and are a step forward in training various stakeholders on the implementation modalities and energy simulation using software.
Mr. Karan Kandhari, Chief Executive Officer, GMK Infra Solutions introduced the participants to the objectives of the workshop.He also explained the participants to the net-metering scheme of PEDA using Roof Top Solar, how to apply and its advantages. ECBC Master Trainers Ar. Anurag Bajpai and Er. Kumar Biplab along with Meenakshi Kandhari, imparted training to the participants on various aspects of Punjab ECBC with major focus on use of software and implementation tools. After the successful training the Participants were given certificates.
