Ludhiana, June 7, 2017: A two-day training course on “Programme Planning, Implementation and Evaluation of Transfer of Agricultural Techniques” began at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. The agriculture and horticulture development officers, district extension specialists and scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendras are participating in the course, being conducted by the Directorate of Extension Education, PAU.
On the first day, the University extension specialists delved on the transfer of agricultural techniques through mass media approaches, impact of GST (Goods and Service Tax) on agricultural marketing, and problems and opportunities in agri-business. Besides, they shed light on approaches and methods for community participation in extension programmes, role of public-private partnership in agricultural development and presented an overview of programme planning process. In addition, the extension specialists will speak on linking market management strategies programme implementation, strengthening of research-extension-farmer-marketing linkages, capacity building for transfer of agricultural techniques, participatory rural appraisal for programme planning and implementation, effective communion skills for transfer of farm techniques, and programme planning and evaluation techniques. Dr T.S. Riar and Dr Kulvir Kaur are the Course Coordinators while Dr J.S. Bhalla and Dr Dharminder Singh are the Technical Coordinators.
