Trained mid-wives to hold agitation

Appeals for regular appointments

Ferozepur, September 6, 2012 : About 500 trained mid-wives in Punjab have appealed to the Punjab Government for recruitment on regular basis. 

Punjab President, Sudesh Rani, and others informed that now all the deliveries are being conducted in the civil hospitals and they are without any work.  They had also got training from the government but they are now unemployed with the changed circumstances.

The president further said that in case their demand is not accepted, all the trained mid-wives in Punjab will be compelled to intensify their agitation.
