170 vehicles checked-up during camp

Kapurthala, April 24, 2018: Traffic Police Kapurthala today organised a free pollution check-up camp on the Jalandhar road, near Sultanpur Bypass.

The camp was organised under the supervision of Traffic In-charge Inspector Surjit Singh Pattar.

A total 170 vehicles were checked-up during the camp to ensure that these vehicles were pollution-free.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr Nayan Bhullar, SDM, Kapurthala who was chief guest on the occasion. DSP Gurmeet Singh Kingra also among those present on this occasion.

After the start of camp, Dr Nayan Bhullar addressed the gathering of police personnel and general public on this occasion and said that road accidents would stop only when every citizen would start following the traffic rules while walking from home and would make other people aware about them. Dr Bhullar said that the accident does not happen by seeing any religion, caste, rich and poor, so every person should take cautiously to stay safe.

In his address, Kingra said that it is very important to follow the traffic rules in keeping with the security. He added two-wheeler drivers should use the helmet to reach their destination and four-wheelers drivers should use a seat belt.
Traffic Incharge Surjit Singh said that vehicles were checked free of cost, adding that black film on the headlights of the vehicles were also put. Pamphlets were also distributed to the public making them aware about the traffic rules. He said that they would keep creating awareness regarding about traffic rules in future too. He urged the people to keep all documents related to their vehiles with them while driving.
