Trade Unions pay homage to Comrade Gurudas Das Gupta

Ludhiana, October 31, 2019: In a condolence meeting organized by the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), several leaders remembered their revered comrade Gurudas Das Gupta former General Secretary AITUC and four times Lok Sabha member of CPI from West Bengal who breathed his last today morning after protracted illness.
Das Gupta was a Parliamentarian par excellence who raised the issues concerning the working class and the nation. He was forthright in his struggle against communalism and was committed to India as a secular democratic country. He was instrumental in uniting central trade unions and led their joint struggle against the anti-people policies of the government.
