Trade and industry leaders hold joint meeting; threaten to go for state wide protest on Aug 9

Ludhiana, August 4, 2012: A joint meeting of representatives of local trade and industry held here today.

According to Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal’s general secretary Sunil Mehra and secretary Mohinder Aggarwal, the meeting was held to discuss about the anti-trade and industry policies of the state government.

They told that the meeting was held under the leadership of Roshan Lal Singla.

They said the trade and industry had been agitating since August 1 in support of its demands. They said they would be constrained to stage state wide protests on August 9 if their demands were not accepted by the state government.

Among other things, they demanded adequate power supply, sufficient availability of c forms, roll back of May 31 notification by ETC Punjab.

Among others who spoke on the occasion, included former Punjab health minister Satpal Gosain and industrial leaders Badish Jindal, Narinder Bhamra and Vinod K. Thapar.
