THREE-MONTH TRAINING COURSE CONCLUDES AT PAU

Ludhiana, November 3, 2017: A three-month training course on “Crop Production” for rural youth concluded at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. In all, 41 trainees participated in the course that was supported and facilitated by the Directorate of Extension Education, PAU.

Dr G.S.Buttar, Additional Director of Extension Education, PAU, who was the chief guest, urged the trainees to practice farming on scientific lines, contribute to national food grain bowl and adopt PAU recommended technologies.

Dr T.S. Riar, Course Coordinator, said the experts dwelt on crop production, vegetable cultivation and their insect-pest and disease management, mushroom growing, beekeeping, animal husbandry and other agri-related occupations. The trainees also visited the fields of progressive farmers as a part of practical training.

Dr Rupinder kaur, Professor of Extension Education, proposed the vote of thanks.

The PAU experts included Dr M.K. Narang, Dr S.K. Thind, Dr Ramandeep Kaur, Dr J.S. Sarabha, Dr R.S. Uppal and Mr Ravinder Bhalooria.
