Three day workshop on AIDS held at DMCH

Ludhiana, December 4, 2018: To commemorate World AIDS Day falling on 1st December every year, Department of Microbiology, DMCH, Ludhiana, organized three-days seminar-cum-workshop on HIV/AIDS for paramedical staff.

Professor & Head of Microbiology-Dr Deepinder Chhina stated that Department of Microbiology has conducted the seminar-cum-workshop for the benefit of paramedical staff. The department also presented a role play to depict myths associated with AIDS, which was conducted by PG students of Microbiology Department and MLT students in OPD Block of the hospital.

Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta said such kind of health- related awareness programmes are being regularly conducted by the institution for the welfare of general public.

Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina said that there are many myths which are associated with HIV/AIDs and urged the general public not to hesitate for getting HIV testing done.

Dr Sunil Gupta (Professor & Head of Dermatology) said that sexual tansmission is main cause of spread of HIV/AIDs and can be minimized by avoid unsafe sex and using safe contraceptibr

Dr Dinesh Jain(Professor of Medicine) highlighted that person detected with HIV positive should regularly consult physician, follow proper diet pan and regular follow up.

Also present on the occasion were Dr Veenu Gupta, Dr Rama Gupta Dr Jyoti Chaudhary and Dr Vandana from Microbiology Department who coordinated the event.
