Thousands of Amitians celebrate the 20th Glorious Years of Sangathan 2018 to commemorate Founder’s Day

20th Inter Amity Institutions Sports Meet “Sangathan 2018” commemorating Founders Day, concluded today with the felicitation of winners in more than 30 Sports events at University Campus, Noida. The Amity Inter Universities Champions Trophy was lifted by Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Amity University Lucknow was declared the First Runner Up and Second Runners Up Trophy was jointly presented to Amity University Rajasthan and Amity University Haryana. Thousands of students from all National and International Campuses of Amity enthusiastically participated in various sports events including Swimming, Tennis, Badminton, Tug- of war, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Chess, Squash and Shooting. The event commenced with an impressive and well-coordinated March Past by 172 marching contingents from Amity International Schools, Amitasha (School for underprivileged girls), Atulasha(School for underprivileged boys), Amity Universities and Amity Dog Training Academy located across India and abroad. The perfectly synchronized students in the contingents evinced confidence, determination, fortitude reminding the audience of the soldiers marching ahead to prove their mettle and take the world head one. The Sports Captains of Amity Law School, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity Centre for Commerce and Finance and Amity Institute of Biotechnology lit the Sangathan Flame. Presenting a summary of Sangathan 2018, Prof. Kalpana Sharma, Chairperson, Organizing Committee, Sangathan – 2018 highlighted that this year, Sanagathan witnessed the exemplary participation of students during the month long mega event wherein 20 sports events were conducted in Boys and Girls Category while 6 events were organized for faculty members and Staff. She shared that the Vintage Games played as part of two month long Sangathan witnessed a roaring success, bringing forth the grit, determination, sportsmanship, leadership and other virtues in the students. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group affirmed his faith on every Amitian that they will contribute towards fulfilling his vision of making India – a Superpower. He urged the students to have a mission and dream in life which will keep them motivated to be successful. He emphasized upon the participation in Sports events and shared that Sangathan inculcates various virtues and values in students which help them reach pinnacle of success. Dr. Chauhan called upon the gathering to work jointly for betterment of society and also to make Amity the best educational institution in the World The bright, young toddlers of Amiown PreSchool- donned in colorful attires, presented a beautiful and endearing medley of dance and aerobics. Amitasha- a school run under Amity Humanity Foundation for underprivileged girls, presented a melodious song. During the occasion, Sangathan 2018 souvenir was released by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan; Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan-Chairperson, Amity International Schools; Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh; Dr. Aseem Chauhan-Chancellor, Amity University, Rajasthan; Ms. Sapna Chauhan- Vice Chairperson, Amiown; Ms. Pooja Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity School of Film and Drama; Mr. Anmol Chauhan; Mr. Ajit Chauhan. Vice-Chairman, Amity Distance & Online Education and Ms. Divya Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity School of Fashion technology and Amity School of Fine Arts. The ceremony witnessed the felicitation of over 1300 students and 144 Faculty and Staff members for their exemplary display of sportsmanship and skills. Amity Law School Noida lifted the Winner’s Trophy of Sangathan 2018 with 20 Gold Medals, 08 Silver Medals and 09 Bronze Medals; Amity School of Engineering and Technology was declared the First Runners Up with 11 Gold Medals, 21 Silver Medals and 12 Bronze Medals. Amity School of Business was declared Second Runners Up with 07 Gold Medals, 03 Silver Medals and 13 Bronze Medals. Dr. Atul Chauhan, President RBEF & Chancellor AUUP declared the Sangathan 2018 closed. Also present during the occasion were His Excellency, Mr Héctor Cueva Jácome Ambassador of Ecuador in India; Dr. Sonia Roca, Chancellor & Founder; Universidad Del Pacifico, Ecuador; Mr. Anand Chauhan- Trustee RBEF, Mr. Ajay Chauhan- Trustee, RBEF, Vice Chancellors of Amity Universities located across India and abroad and several other dignitaries. On the eve of valediction of Sangathan- 2018- Inter Institutional Mega Sports Meet, a colorful cultural Programme was organized at Amity University, Sector-125, Noida wherein students of Amity Universities presented mesmerizing performances. During the cultural evening, students, donned in colorful ensembles, from 11 Amity Universities and Campuses located in Dubai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Noida,Greater Noida, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Mumbai, Jharkand and Bihar presented a mélange of dances ranging from Folk Dances, Lavani, Bhangra to Bollywood songs, . The presentations beautifully brought out the unity in global diversity.
