Jalandhar, September 25, 2019: The B.Design (Multimedia) Department of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar in collaboration with Film & Television Institute of India, Pune inaugurated 5 day Film Appreciation Course where not only the students of college but aspirants from Mumbai, New Delhi, Fazilka, Indore, Yamuna Nagar, Ludhiana, Goraya also participated in it.

In total 74 aspirants became the part of this enriching programme. Prof.Ashok Ogra, Milind Damle and Pankaj Saxena shall be the chief people addressing and guiding the students during these 5 days of course.

The inaugural ceremony began with evoking the grace of god where the students under the guidance of Mr. Gaurav Kohli recited a divine prayer.

Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma welcomed the guests warmly and addressing the gathering put forth that it is a matter of great fortune for our students and other aspirants participating in the course that they shall be learning under the blend of experts namely – Prof.Ashok Ogra, Advisor and Former Director, Apeejay Institute of mass Communication, Milind Damle, a versatile personality and reputed name in film and TV industry and Head, Film & Television Institute of India, Pune and Pankaj Saxena, Course Coordinator, Filmmaker, Television Programmer, Electric Media Consultant, Film Academic Writer as well. Learning under these experts, aspirants will not only be benefitted by the rich experience of these experts but shall also recognize the right path and direction to establish their careers in film industry.

Addressing the gathering, Ashok Ogra put forth that there is so much behind the screen than what is shown in 3 hours of the movie; and in today’s time it is not only the director or actor who are recognized but cinematographer, writer, lightening and everyone else working for the projection of that film gets importance and is recognized.

Mr. Milind Damle opined that cinema is 125 years old and with changing time; cinema too has developed in this era of technology and has come forward in various forms. He emphasized that the audience cannot even imagine how much hard work and dedication is required to successfully present a movie of 3 hours before them. He asserted it is a purely team work and if one person makes a mistake; then it affects the whole work. He cited an illustration that it took 6 years to make a movie like “Mughle Aazam”. He assured the students that after attending this course; their perception of the film world shall totally be molded and this course will introduce them to the Film World in crystal clear manner.

He proudly put forth that its first time that such one of the kind of courses is being conducted in Jalandhar and was glad to see the enthusiasm of young aspirants.
