Ludhiana, June 22, 2017: Senior leaders of Aam Aadmi Party Ahbaab Singh Grewal and Darshan Saingh Shankar in a statement issued to the media squarely refuted the charges levelled by Vinod Thapar against national leaders and termed these as completely false, baseless and made under a conspiracy hatched in connivance with the ruling Party. They claimed that the party rather had given him much respect than his stature and made him State Senior Vice President of Transport, Trade and Industry Wing. Mr Tpapar was seen sharing seat on the dias with senior leadership at all the important functions.
They said that from the allegation of demanding Rs. 2 crore for Ticket, now after three months of the elections and formation of Congress government in state clearly shows that he is speaking his master's voice. They said that under alliance with Lok Insaaf Party 4 seats in Ludhiana were left for LIP and there was no scope of a ticket to him in the city, even he had been campaigning for LIP candidates in Ludhiana Centre and North from where he was presenting him as candidate. He may be hopping for some bigger post in case AAP comes to power. And know AAP could not form Govt. and he started conniving with ruling Congress hopping for some adjustment in Government, they added. Even his pictures were seen with some top functionaries of Congress Party recently.
As for as the allegation of expenditure in Fortune classic Klassic, a function was organised by his Knitwear Club putting its banner was put up on the stage and that was not a party function, they cleared.
They also asserted that the party had never accepted any money without receipt for functions, if he had himself collected any money from the people, then it was a gross financial offence on his part.
Both the leaders said that it is now completely clear that Mr. Thapar had joined the party to fulfill his greed for a ticket or a post in government visualising that AAP- will definitely form Govt after election, which remained unfulfilled.
