The ‘Seven Days in South’ food fest at The Café@JW Marriott Chandigarh will serve authentic delicacies from the five states of Southern India namely Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. On the platter will be sumptuous dishes likeChicken Chettinad, Pesaratus, Appams & Stews, Mutton Pepperfry, Fish Podichattu, Paysams etc. To satiate their thirst, the guests can order a drink of their choice from Kerala Kicks which are Mocktails and Cocktails having Kokam Sharbat & Coconut as their main ingredients.

The South Indian cuisine includes the presence of rice as a staple food, the use of lentils and spices, dried red chilies and fresh green chilies, coconut and native fruits and vegetables including tamarind, plantain, snake gourd, garlic, and ginger. All these are common to the cuisines of the five states which will be served at ‘Seven Days in South’ food fest. Sounding similar, yet the cuisines from all the states will differ in terms of the varying degree of spiciness and the style of preparation indigenous to each of these states.

Sharing the idea behind organizing ‘Seven Days in South’- the South Indian food fest, DF&B Pallav Singhal says,” It’s the holiday season and families are planning trips to different places. The states from South India feature high on the list, attracting tourists with the trips to scenic destinations or historical monuments and a chance to savour the world-famous South Indian food. However, there are many who are not able to plan a trip due to busy lifestyles or prior commitments. Our ‘Seven Days in South’ food fest is offering them and others as well a chance to breathe in the aroma and awash their taste buds with authentic flavours of South India”.
