Jalandhar, August 30, 2019: Tech Fest 2019 – an Inter School Competition was organized at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar.

More than 800 students from 26 schools of the region participated in 19 various competitions varying from Music, Fine Arts, Literary, Technology to Commerce i.e. Business Idea Presentation, Play with Clay, Painting on the Spot, General Quiz Bonanza, Gaming, Picture Captioning, Poster Presentation, Photography, Group Dance, Gustakhi Maaf, Website Development, Programming Skills, Debate, Poetical Recitation, Theme based Modeling, Mobile App, Idea Presentation, T-shirt/Hand Painting, Rangoli, Cooking. Organized under the aegis of Department of Computer Science, not only the students of Jalandhar but also of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur participated in it.

Rohit Chaudhary, Director General of Police, Punjab presided over the event as a Chief Guest. Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma welcomed him with fresh bunch of flowers and put forth that presence of such an exemplary and outstanding professional acumen and receiver of many awards and honors will undoubtedly set an example for our young participants who would get inspired to follow his glowing footsteps.

Siddharth Sharma, Advisor, Department of Cooperation, Govt. of Punjab was also present on the occasion. She also shared the achievements and contribution of college towards city and society in general with the august gathering.

On this occasion, the students of B.Voc. Contemporary Forms of Dance awed the audience with their magnificent and graceful performance based on the theme FIT INDIA – a wave started by Prime Minister. Another students from Department of Dance - Mannat and Pranav too entertained the audience with their Western and Indian Fusion.

Addressing the young students, Rohit Chaudhary expressed his joy on seeing the enthusiastic young students. He put forth that today's youth has infinite energy and schools/ colleges and their mentors should channelize this energy in a positive and productive direction. He added that even government's rule is crucial in this direction and should come up with various schemes and policies where youth's energy could be used in nation building, character enhancement and productive direction. He congratulated the winners and efforts of college in promoting art at each and every level.

Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Rohit Chaudhary, Dr. Roopali Sood, Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dr. Manish Gupta and Dr. Manisha Sharma awarded the participants with trophies and certificates. She congratulated and appreciated the meticulous efforts of Dr. Roopali Sood, HOD – Computer Science, Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dr. Munish Gupta, Dr. Manisha Sharma and Ramandeep for making the event successful.
