Teaching and Non-Teaching employees and Principal boycott all their respective duties

Ludhiana, December 15, 2014: On the call of Joint Action Committee of the representatives of PCCTU and PCNTEU and the Principal Federation of aided College of Punjab and Chandigarh, all the Teaching and Non-Teaching employees and Principal of Arya College Ludhiana boycott all their respective duties for the day and sat on dharna in the College campus for the whole day.

This protest was staged against the grossly indifferent attitude of the Punjab Government towards higher education in general and the aided colleges in particular. Because of the short sided policies of the Punjab government the employees of the aided colleges have been put to sever financial hardship as the government has not release 95% grant in aid amount due to these colleges for last 18 months. As a result employees are not getting salaries and their families being put to lot of hardship.

The demands of the employees of the aided colleges include release 95% grant in aid amount due for the last 18 months without any further delay, immediate restoration of the fixed medical allowance as well as the HRA as given to the Punjab Govt. employees, lift the ban of Non-Teaching posts and notification of amended Grade Pay Scale from 01-12-2011 of Non-Teaching employees.

All the members of Teaching and Non-Teaching were present and raised slogans against Punjab Government. Prof. Devinder Sharma, P.S.Bhogal,V.K.Bhardwaj, Parminder Singh, Sat Pal Singh,Kamlesh Kumari, Mamta Ratra, RAjiv Bhasin, Ashwani Thakur,Jai Gopal Sharma, Sohan Lal Sharma, Amrik Singh, Tejinder Kaur, Rama Sobti, Santosh Kumari, Sarita Behal, Shailja Anand also present in dharna.
