Tax free budget presented in M C Dharamshala

Dharamshala, February 18, 2019: Municipal Corporation (MC) Dharamshala presented its third tax free budget in a row, on Monday. The General House Meeting of the Municipal Corporation (MC) was conducted under the chairmanship of Mayor Devindra Jaggi, in which budget of Rs.77.65 crore was passed unanimously.
The spokesperson of MC Dharamshala said that this year too, residents of Dharamshala have not been levied any new tax and there was no tax increase in the existing format of taxes. “Rs.4 crore have been earmarked for the construction of new parkings. In order to lay the sewerage line in newly merged areas in the Municipal Corporation (MC), a provision of Rs. 20 crores has been made in the budget, “ said spokesperson.
Rs.1 crore has been earmarked for public toilets. The parks will be constructed in the city at the cost of Rs.3 crores. Recreation centres will be developed at a cost of Rs.50 lakhs. To save the land from landslide, the drainage system shall be upgraded at the cost of Rs.2 crore . Small Irrigational channels (Kuhals) will be repaired and Rs.1 crore have been earmarked for it.
A provision of Rs.6 crore have been made in the budget for repair of streets, roads and culverts. Rs.50 lakhs shall be spent on the construction of shopping shops. On this occasion, all the municipal councillors and Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Kadam were present.
