TAPMI celebrates 27th edition of BrandScan
Manipal: November 23rd and 24th witnessed the 27th edition of BrandScan, India’s largest market research fair organised by the students of T A Pai Management Institute -- a premier B-school in the country with the prestigious double crown accreditation (AACSB and AMBA). The event was held at the Christian School Ground, Udupi. BrandScan is a unique platform where students solve live projects from companies under the guidance of experienced faculty and industry professionals to provide novel business solutions. The research includes collecting data from customers, analysing, interpreting and thus providing insights to companies based on the analysis of the collected data. Speaking on the occasion, the guest of honour Mr K G George,Senior Vice-President (Retail), TTK Prestige said, “A company’s success is majorly dependent on its future expansion plans and development of new products. Market research is crucial to all companies as it helps them get a more precise understanding of the consumer needs.” The event witnessed Brandscan’s first student convenor, Mr Kenny Ramanand who spoke about BrandScan’s roots. He said, “BrandScan aligns with TAPMI’s promise of experiential learning, especially for the marketing majors. One needs to pursue newer avenues involving the greater use of technology that could push BrandScan to greater heights.” The 27th edition of BrandScan was marked by some events like LITTLE STARS -- a talent hunt for children between the ages of 5 and 14 years, VOICE OF UDUPI -- their singing competition, DANCE UDUPI DANCE -- their dance competition, WHIPLASH -- a rock band competition, COMEDYVILLE -- a stand-up comedy show, PUTUGOSI MANUSHYA -- a heartfelt drama featuring power-packed performances by talented theatre artistes and PANACHE -- BrandScan Manipal’s flagship event where participants hit the stage with their stellar designs and expert walk. Speaking on the success of the event, Chairperson Prof. Shirshendu Ganguli said, “This Version 2.0 of BrandScan, with its pan-India presence and execution of different types of market research projects, both disguised and structured, should be able to venture into new directions. I wish to see the next version to come up with even more innovations, scaling new heights with time.” The team also explained how their projects were conducted in close association with Nielsen, their Market Research advisor and Virtusa, their Analytics partner.
