Ferozepur, March 4, 2013: The tall claims of the Punjab Government for overall development in Punjab looks to be hollow when the railing over the bridge in village Surghuri missing for the last so many years has not been repaired which is posing a danger to the travelers especially during the night time. A number of accidents on this bridge have already occurred because of missing of railing and earth from the corners on both sides.

Every year the grants are issued by the government for the development works in Punjab but due to negligence of the officers, there is no priority in works and importance is given to the new projects.

The villagers expressed their concern over the working style of the government.  While demanding for immediate repair of the bridge, the villagers proposed that the priority should be given to the repairs of roads and bridges which connects the rural and urban areas keeping aside the self interests of the government officials and politicians to gain game over the new projects.
