Ludhiana, October 28, 2017: Three-day Annual Conference of Association of Surgeons of India (Punjab State Chapter) ‘SURGICON 2017’ was formally inaugurated by the chief guest-Dr Rajiv Bhalla, Director, Punjab State Health Services. Also present on the occasion were Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Medical Superintendent Dr Sandeep Sharma and office bearers of Association of Surgeons of India (Punjab State Chapter).
In his address to the audience, President of Organizing Committee-Dr Sanjeev Uppal extended warm welcome to the dignitaries and delegates present on the occasion. He stressed that in today’s time, surgeons play a very crucial role in delivering surgical and clinical care to the patients suffering from trauma and other disorders. Organizing of such conference helps the budding surgeons to update their surgical and clinical skills, said Dr Uppal.
Principal Dr Sandeep Puri sid that DMCH has always been committed in providing quality health care to the patients visit the hospital. He said that that scientific sessions being included in the conference will prove of immense help t the participating delegates.
The Chief Guest Dr Rajiv Bhalla lauded the role of organizing committee in organizing the three-day conference of mega level. He acknowledged the contribution of DMCH in serving the sick and needy of he society.
Organizing Chairman-Dr Jaspal Singh (Professor & Head of Surgery, DMCH) proposed a vote of thanks to all those present on the occasion. Around 350 delegates from different parts of the country and aborad have come to participate in the academic fiesta, said Dr Singh.
During the inaugural ceremony, six fellowships were given to different doctors including Dr Naresh Bassi and Dr Sanjeev Uppal for their contribution in the respective fields.
