Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal being honoured by Punjab Pradesh Aggarwal Sammelan at Chandigarh on Wednesday. 

Chandigarh, April 22, 2015: Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal today issued directions to all Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police working in field to ensure punctuality and discipline in their respective offices with a view to resolve maximum public issues on the spot to facilitate general masses.

Redressing public grievances in grievance redressal program here, Badal asked chiefs of civil, police administration and various government departments to ensure maximum sitting in their offices so that the issues of public could be redressed. He said that heads of different department should personally deal with the complicated issues to maintain law and order and to curb illegal practices, if any. He also called upon the common masses to take full advantage of various helpline launched by Punjab Government for registration of complaints, if their issues were not redressed at lower level.

While listening to the grievances of people gathered here from the state, Badal resolved more than 73 complaints on the spot by issuing necessary directions to the officers concerned. He said the laxity in providing public services and justice to the aggrieved parties would not be tolerated at any cost. He also asked the Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, IGs, DIGs and SSPs to ensure the completion of time-bound enquiries pending in their respective offices. He assured the common masses that the ruling alliance was fully committed to resolve all issues without any unnecessary delay. He said that people could register their online complaints on [email protected].

Meanwhile, a delegation of Akal Academy, Cheema Sangrur led by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sant Balvir Singh Ghunas along students of academy called on Deputy Chief Minister and extended thanks for approving Akal University in the state. Similarly, a delegation of Punjab Pradesh Aggarwal Sammelan also called on Badal and honoured the latter with a memento. The delegation was lead by President Rajesh Aggarwal, Amrit Lal, Rakesh Goyal, Parveen Singla, Sandeep Modi, Sunil Goyal, Vikas Gupta and Deepak Ratra.
