SUKHBIR’S PAK VISIT: Invites Pak textile manufacturers’ association delegation to Punjab

Lahore/Chandigarh, November 7, 2012: The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today underlined the need for giving a big push to Textile Industry as it has great potential of employment generation.

Speaking at a function organized by all Pakistan Textile Manufacturer’s Associate held here at Royal Palm, Badal said that textile industry of Eastern and Western Punjab should join hands and supplement each others strength. He said that Textile Industry was quite developed in Pakistan as it constituted more than 70% export of the country and we in Punjab were actively pursuing the initiative of Textile Park in Malwa region.

Inviting APTMA delegation to Punjab, Badal said that Textile manufacturers of both Punjab’s should explore the possibility of joint venture to excel in the competitive goods. He said that APTMA delegation should visit Punjab and discuss the opportunities available in the Textile Sector.

Lauding the improvement of Indo-Pak trade ties, Badal said that pre-dominant population on both sides sincerely desire this and governments of both sides would have to bend before collective will of the people.

Earlier the office bearers of APTMA spoke about the progress of Textile industry in Punjab on Pakistan side and also honoured Deputy Chief Ministers and his cabinet colleagues with mementoes.
