SUICIDE: Married woman commits suicide

Ferozepur, January 6, 2013:  A married woman, resident of Baba Ram Lal Nagar, committed suicide by hanging from the neck.

Gurdip Singh, SHO informed that the police have a registered a case against Manjit Kaur who is running a beauty parlour alongwith three girls on the statement of husband of the deceased, Davinder Singh, a resident of Gali No.4, Baba Ram Lal Nagar, Ferozepur City.

According to Devinder Singh, complainant, his wife Harpal Kaur was working in a beauty parlour being run by Manjit Kaur where Jannat alias Deepika and Reetu resident of Basti Bagh Wali, Ferozepur City were also working. 

As per the statement of Devinder Singh, Jannat became a member of Secure Life Company by paying Rs.7,800 of the complainant and got a paint-coat cloth.  In fact, Jannat then had to enroll more members but she could not do so and was compelling Harpal Kaur to get her back Rs.7,800 deposited with her husband. 

The girls booked in this case were harassing Harpal Kaur and used to call boys from her mobiles and used to threaten Harpal Kaur that they will inform her husband of making calls to boys and you have illicit relations with some boys.

Inspector Gurdip Singh informed that the complainant Devinder Singh, while recording the statement with the police has alleged that the Harpal Kaur has committed suicide because of threats from the girls.

A case has been regiserd at Ferozepur City police station against Manjit Kaur owner of beauty parlour, Jannat and Reetu and started further investigation into the case.

On the other hand, on contacting the Manjit Kaur, owner of the beauty parlour, the charges levelled against her were denied and the case registered against her is totally false and baseless.  She however, said that, Harpal Kaur is not coming to her beauty parlour as she was discharged about six months back.  She further said that Harpal Kaur had some family dispute and there is involvement of her or any of the girls working in her beauty parlour.
