STUDENTS’ LEGAL LITERACY CLUB organises seminar on atrocities against women

Ferozepur, March 4, 2013: The Students’ Literacy Club of local RSD College organised seminar on ‘Atrocities against Women’ in which the key note speaker was Dr. Sanjiv Kumar.

Dr. Sanjiv Kumar in his speech said, the Delhi gang-rape has forced us to sit up and spare a thought for what ails our society. While the government, the police and the administration need to take strict action at their respective levels, we need to improve our conduct in public and within the four walls of our homes to strike at the root of the problem. Demonstration of power to the weak is human nature. Only the weak try and control others, the strong exercise self-control. The way we bring up a male child in our society needs change. When your father does not treat your mother right, when a brother does not treat his sister right or when a boyfriend does not treat his girlfriend right, speak up. The real solution lies in refraining from all immoral activities in our daily life and laying stress on right conduct as a parent, colleague, sibling, friend, et al.

Principal R. P. Garg in his welcome expressed his views on the importance of such seminars by the students while Prof. Gurtej Koharwala speaking on the occasion shared the aims and objects of the club.
