Ludhiana, November 5, 2014: The theatrical events kept the audience spellbound during the on-going “Inter-College Youth Festival” at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The students displayed their theatrical skills during one-act play, mime and mimicry events, held yesterday at evening. Dr Om Gauri Dutt Sharma, Deputy Director General, Doordarshan Kendra, Jalandhar was the chief guest while Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice- Chancellor, PAU presided over the evening.
A PAU alumnus, Dr Om Gauri Dutt Sharma said, “This University has earned great recognition for producing great scientists, sportspersons and artists across the country and the world.” The theatrical events presented a true picture of the society, he said, while adding that students have enacted extremely well in all the events. The audience must learn a lesson from these events for peaceful society. He asked the youth to have strong determination and work hard in order to achieve success in life.
In his presidential remarks, Dr Dhillon urged the students to work with dedication and carve a niche in diverse fields. “Our alumni have bagged honours across the globe,” he said, while asking the students to touch great heights in future as products of PAU.
Earlier, Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare welcomed the guests and the gathering. She told that folk daces, mono-acting and skit will be held on November 5 at evening followed by prize-distribution function.
