Students perform ‘nukkad natak’ on drug abuse
Jalandhar, November 16, 2019: NCC Cadets of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar have always been engaged in activities through which they create awareness among public on vibrant-social issues. It remains and irrefutable fact today that Punjab has fallen into the grip of drug abuse and there is an urgency to combat this issue. In order to bring home their point, the NCC Unit performed a ‘Nukkad N atak’ on Drug Abuse in Punjab at Jalandhar Bus Stand under the dynamic leadership of Colonel Jasbir Singh, Commanding Officer of 2 Punjab Girls Batallion and Lieutenant, Priya Mahajan, Associate NCC Officer. An attempt was made to show the ill-effects of drug abuse in Punjab, brooding as to how it was once a rich land of Gurus. They dramatized the plight of the drug addicts and their families. They also suggested ways to get rid of this menace. Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora lauded the endeavours of Lieutenant Priya Mahajan and NCC Cadets. She maintained that such plays serve as eye-opener to the general public, particularly, Youth, in manifesting the ugly picture of the drug-ingested population. Along with cadets, Assistant Professor, Shivangi, CHM K. Kumar, Subedar R.R. Sharma and CHM Jay Parkash also contributed for the social cause.
